Extensive archival work in Britain, Germany, France and other countries will result in visual maps of the significant networks, two journal articles—on the debates around G in the 1880s-90s and on attempts to derive G from electrodynamic theory between 1890 and 1905--a thematic essay, and updated biographies for the MacTutor website. The gravitational constant network will furthermore guest edit a special journal issue on G. An introduction to the main premise behind the network is given below, in a brief talk by Isobel Falconer.
